This is a wallpaper based on the Windows Vista/7 Aurora style.

I used a Windows 7 stock wallpaper as a background, blurred it, tweaked it, and so on and created the Aurora-shapes on top of it.

It comes in 1920x1200 so that should cover most widescreen monitors. Sorry for not including a standard size version, I run a widescreen monitor and never intended on releasing this until someone requested it.

I tried to do that, but some bad artifacts (is that the word?) started appearing. The gradient wasn't smooth anymore.

Ah yeah that happens to me sometimes :/

You probably don't need my help but just a suggestion, have you tried going into adjustments and lowering the vibrance when you change the colour? It's helped me before :D still good wallpaper though :)
