Here's is a screenshot of my new theme for Windows 7, Basic.

This theme originally began as an adaptation of a concept I created for a Windows 7 theme, which also bears the same name. I began to recreate that concept as a theme for Windows, but due to the limited nature of Windows 7's theming engine, it wasn't faithful to the concept and had plenty of glitches. I started from scratch, and this is what I have so far with a few days worth of work devoted to it.

I know a couple ideas aren't exactly original, including the curved taskbar, as well as the OS X inspired sidebar, but I am attempting to create what I think would be the culmination of the best Operating Systems UIs and Visual Styles I've seen to this date, so I hope no one minds.

Nothing here is final, so you can expect things like white text against the start menu background to be changed eventually.

There's more to come over the next few days.

Suggestion:
- Please do specific versions for top taskbar.
- Explorer buttons should be like the ones on your twitter client concept.
- Don't quite like the rounded edges on the taskbar.
- Don't like the userpic on the startmenu. Wouldn't look nice if the taskbar is kept at the top.

At the moment, I would say a custom start orb, maybe a Windows flag in a similar style to the Apple button on the OS X menubar, and also reduce the harshness of the icon hovers on the taskbar.

Other than that, it's looking great

Thanks. Hopefully I can come up with something a bit more unique to this theme as it goes through development.

Yes, I realize that this is an issue. I may include a rounded version for the top, or a regular square version for all of the taskbar positions.
